This isn't one picture, it is 16 pictures put together into one!
I asked some of my friends and family how they think they would have looked (not how they WISHED they'd look) if they had been My Little Ponies but only three had made a Pony Persona (and one of them only made one after I nagged/threatened for a year or two
). So I started designing and picked colours and symbols for the rest and talked to them to make sure I got their personality right
Some were less up to it than others so I had to... encourage them. What? Threatening to draw them as ponies with perverted symbols and their least fav colours? Who me? I don't know what you are taking about
(well it did work, so...
Anyway, I did the same thing several years ago so I already had the design for some of them but now when I can draw more things than I used to be able to draw, I wanted to update them a bit, and also wanted to add more ponies and the old picture suffered from lack of space
No, these aren't some role playing personas or something. I designed them like this: What my friends and I would look like if we were My Little Ponies, not what we WISH we'd look like
So NO, you didn't get both wings and horns and glitter and jewels and almighty magical powers and not everyone can be purple and black XD
Type of pony chosen to match their personalities.
In the MLP cartoons the ponies personalities weren't connected to their pony type, for example both Surprise and Wind Whistler are pegasus ponies while having very different personalities.
But when I decided on pony types for the pony personas I looked at them as a symbol of the personality of the person, and here is sort of how my thinking went:
For example the Flutter Ponies feels to me like dreamers, frail, shy, sensitive, full of imagination, etc.
Earth Ponies to me feel strong, steady, down to earth, dependable, trustworthy, level-headed.
For the Unicorns I focused more on how the horn both can be a weapon and therefore fits a fighter and someone who can defend themselves, but also that you have a thing for magic and imagination and isn't very down to earth
Pegasus ponies feels to me like explorers, adventurous, free spirits.
Sea Ponies I see as mysterious, but I couldn't draw the yellow Princess Pony like one since I didn't want any dead dried up Sea Ponies in the picture due to lack of water
The sparkles in the hair on some ponies is my way of making the glitter hair of the Princess Ponies. I used that pony type to show how some have a kind of shiny sparkling personality
And I used the colours of Tropical Ponies to show playfulness and bubbly and energetic personalities
Fuzzy hoofs means that it's a boy. That's how you tell what gender someone is in Ponyland...
